Math - this week we focused on completing the Vancouver Islan d math tests. This has been done in all three term to check progress. We also worked on the steps to long division:
* Estimate
* Multiply (your guess by the number you are dividing by)
* Subtract
* Bring Down
* repeat
Reading - We began working on inferencing using pictures and clues. We will be doing the Whole Class Reading Assessment next week.
Writing - we completed reading our narrative stories aloud this week and began working on comic strip stories.
\Science - we are working on observing the properties of sound and have since learned sound travels in waves and the difference between volume (loudness) and pitch (tone).
Socials - ongoing studies of Canadian explorers
HCE - we have been working on the vegetable rainbow. A challenge was placed to request a fruit or vegetable of their choice to be put on to the grocery list.
