A busy week has happened for us all centring around the Christmas concert and wrapping up work in all areas. We will back to the regular schedule January 3rd! Enjoy your Christmas break!
Math - completion of our unit on Patterns and Algebra.
Reading - interrupted last week for writing work. Writing - continuation of our autobiography unit. We have been working on 50 Thing We Want to Do Someday. Science - Finishing up of our Science unit on the weather with our Science test. Sent home on Friday for parent/caregiver review. Please sign and return if sticker indicated to. Thank you. Socials - research project work with Mrs. Hawkins HCE - finishing of our personal flag posters. Now to the laminator they will go! Art - special project related to the season ;) Computers - we completed the third module of Passport to the Internet which guided them through appropriate IM behavior and reporting of online bullying. Remember to always show and tell an Math - we worked on t-tables and word problems using t-tables over the past week. Completion on this unit will occur on Tuesday with a math unit test to occur on Wednesday or Thursday. of next week.
Reading - This weeks reading has been preempted by finishing up of our HCE unit ending project. We will return to our reading program and the cafe literacy strategies next week. Writing - ongoing work on our Autobiography unit. We have completed our Mystery Feet and Favourite Place paragraph. Students have just begun a list of the 50 things they would like to do someday. Science - we finished our science unit on weather this week. All students received a study guide for the science test on December 7th. Socials - students are wrapping up their first research project on the First Nations people. HCE - we have worked on completing our personal needs flag which shows which need: Love/Belonging, Power, Freedom, or Fun drives our decision making and actions. Laminating and finishing touches are yet to come! Computers - we began working on the third module of Passport to the Internet. It is a module titled "Instant Pigeon" which discusses cyberbullying and using the world of Instant messaging safely and appropriately. Art - Christmas concert practicing is underway.
